ANZAC Day ‘25
Our very own Cuba Street Brass did their part to help those who attended the Brooklyn ANZAC Day Service remember and reflect on the 110th anniversary of New Zealand and Australian soldiers landing on the Gallipoli Peninsula in 1915 and to commemorate and honour our service personnel.
The event culminated with the “drum corps” leading attendees in the march down to the Brooklyn Community Centre to share in fellowship and morning tea with all those who attended.
Easter ‘25
Partnering with Miramar and Wellington South Corps, we had a special time celebrating Easter together and reflecting on the sacrifice Jesus made for us on Good Friday. And then on Easter Sunday, celebrating what it means for us as Christians that HE IS RISEN!
CubaDupa ‘25
CubaDupa ’25 was an event that was made successful by the willingness and adaptability of our volunteers and all those who got involved to make it happen! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to all of you for getting stuck in and making the weekend in all its different aspects an opportunity to spread awareness of who we are and what we do. We’ve heard an overwhelming amount of stories about just how powerful the weekend was not just for us and what we do, but for kingdom building and the work that God can do in our community.
Musicians Break Up
We’re very grateful for our musicians who serve all year round bringing their talents and gifts to both worship God and lead others to Him. Recently they got together to celebrate and acknowledge the year that’s been!
7’s Sport Competition ‘24
The wider Wellington area of The Salvation Army recently held a 7’s sport competition of which we entered 2 teams from Cuba Street! Our competitive grade team ended up taking 3rd place and our social grade team came away with 2nd place! What a bunch of sports stars!
